Handmade Burr walnut wine case No 0082
Box No 0082
One of a limited edition of four commissioned solid Burr Walnut wine collectors cases.
The box has two 'gatefold' lids each having hidden magnetic closures.
The Burr Walnut (Juglans regia) from which this box is made was from a tree that stood in the town of Bothwell near Hamilton in Lanarkshire. It blew over in a January storm. The tree was mature and split into 2 trunks about 5 ft off the ground. One half fell into a garden, the other half across the main road, each being a length of about 30 foot. The box is lined with Wine coloured suede hide.
